Wild Families: New Life in the Wild

If baby animals make you smile, you won’t be able to resist the new photography exhibit coming to Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats. Award winning photographer Richard Seeley of Gloucester will be showing his photographs of wildlife families and wildlife babies at Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center from June 5 through July 24.

Free Presentation About Indigenous Fish

Have you ever wondered what species of fish live in the waters around Plum Island? If you have, now is your chance to quench your curiosity. Matt Ayer, aquatic biologist for the Massachusetts Division of Marine Resources, will conduct a free public lecture at the headquarters and visitor center of Parker River National Wildlife Refuge on Thursday, May 19th from 7:00 – 8:00 pm.

Lecture on Guyana Wildlife

Dave Weaver, veteran birder and resident of Manchester-by-the-Sea, will give a presentation on his recent trip to Guyana at Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center on Wednesday, May 18, at 7:30 pm. This program is open to the public, appropriate for all ages, and free to Mass Audubon’s members; the nonmember fee is $4. No preregistration is required.

PSA: Beach Clean Up with Joppa Flats

Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge announce that the Coastsweep 2009 cleanup for Plum Island, including the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and Sandy Point State Reservation, will be held on Saturday, September 12, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
