The Joppa Flats Education Center is located at the entrance to the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge and the Plum Island Estuary, one of the country’s most productive wildlife viewing areas. The wildlife viewing areas are active year-round, and particularly enticing to bird watchers, with over 300 species viewed in the area.

Public library for the town of Newburyport, within the 35-member Merrimack Valley Library Consortium. The library is fully accessible, and offers a Children’s Center, Teen Room, internet, multimedia, and a wide range of services for our members.
Parker River National Wildlife Refuge
Encompassing two-thirds of Plum Island in Newburyport MA, the Parker River refuge offers a visitors center with access to educational and entertaining exhibits. It is home to a variety of species, and provides a feeding and nesting habitat for birds.
Yankee Homecoming in Newburyport
