Support your local merchants on Black Friday and throughtout the weekend by heading out to shop throughout downtown and The
Tannery. Our beautiful local shops have their shelves stocked with fantastic items for all of your Holiday gift giving.
Continuing throughout the Weekend is NAA's Annual Holiday Show & Sale
The
Newburyport Art Association's Annual Members' Holiday Show & Sale
"Gifts Galore" is open for holiday shoppers. This much anticipated
Show is truly a "Gifts Galore" experience for anyone looking for that
special gift for a special someone, or who doesn't know what to buy for
that hard-to-buy-for person.

For
this special show the NAA's galleries are festively decorated and
filled with affordably priced, handcrafted artwork representing all NAA
media. Two-dimensional framed artwork of Oil, Acrylic, Watercolor,
Pastel, Drawing, Mixed Media, Print Making, plus traditional and
digital Photography will fill the walls in all three galleries, while
matted bin work in the same media will also be for sale. Also in the
Sargent and Hills Galleries will be tables featuring a wide selection
of juried Fine Crafts to include; jewelry, pottery, ceramics, wood
carvings, holiday houses, and much, much more.
For

Start out early on Saturday and head to Joppa Flats for "What's that Bird" A quick weekend jaunt to see the birds
of greater Newburyport. No experience required. Limited to six
participants. Children age 8 and up welcome.
Head to the Tannery Mareketplace over the weekend and help your children learn the gift of giving. The Tannery's "Kids give back; learning the gift of giving" ~ a program where kids can drop off
canned goods at Tannery shops and their parents can enter into a weekly drawing
for gift certificates. The drawing will take place on Sundays at 12:00 at the
Newburyport Farmers' Market in the Market Lounge. (All canned goods will be
donated to Our Neighbors Table and The Pettengill House).

Also at The Tannery - The Pottery Isle is offering kids who donate a canned goods the chance to paint a free ornament. Just stop by the Pottery Ilse from 9-12 with your donation.
Head down with your family to the The Musical Suite who are providing "Songs and Stories with Johanna Kimball" from 10-11:15

Join the Newburyport Birders and meet at Lot #1 on the Refuge on Saturday, to discover "Wings of Autumn on Plum Island". The program runs from 2:30 pm to dusk.Bring a
Discover the wings of autumn at this slow-paced program. It will
include tips on bird identification and the natural history of species
on the Refuge, one of the premiere birding sites in the country. Dress
in layers for the weather and wear sturdy shoes.
On Sunday we hope you'll head over to the Farmer's Market which is still running both indoors and out at the Tannery Marketplace from 11-1 each week.
Fly-by or spend the afternoon at Joppa Flats from anytime on Sunday from 10-2 for free-flowing nature fun for families with children age 2 to 12.
Finally on Sunday Join The Newburyport Rotary Club, WNBP, and Newburyport Today for the Arrival of Santa Claus and the Tree Lighting in Market Square. Santa will arrive at by boat at the boardwalk at 3:00. He and Mrs. Claus will then begin their ride through downtown to gather in Market Square for the tree lighting and carols.
