Hot Spots Newburyport spent a sunny Saturday downtown kicking off the school year with stops at Lively Kids, Boat Camp, and Michael’s Harborside where we found fun for kids and adults alike.
We started our day at Boat Camp where we joined the kids to explore the science behind the Merrimack River with fun touch tanks and tide pool animals. What fantastic place for kids to receive marine and environmental education through fun, hands-on, experiential learning!
Lively Kid’s just won North Shore Magazine’s 2011 Best of North Shore Award for Kid’s Clothing and when you stop in, you’ll see why! With super cool stuff for stylish kids, we did some last minute school shopping here. Lively Kids carries a fun and unique selection of clothing and more, providing top quality items that will withstand the wear and tear of every day kids’ play!
We ended our day with lunch at Michael’s Harborside where the kids signed up for the Splashdown Kid’s Club to get a free kids meal anytime during their birthday month! The relaxing and family-friendly atmosphere and waterfront dining experience made for the perfect end to a fun-filled day.
These local Hot Spots made for a start of school send-off that was low-key and low-stress — just what our family needed to head into the school year! As the year continues, we look forward to exploring more great spots to shop local and spend family time close to home.
