Fishtival at The Newburyport Farmer's Market



The Newburyport Farmers’ Market will present Fishtival on Sunday July 18th during the farmer market hours of 9:00 am-1:00pm. Celebrating New England’s aquatic life, Fishtival will offer a of variety of activities for the entire family featuring our local fin population!

Eastman’s Fish Market will host “Who’s Fin is that” An opportunity to identify 3 different species of our aquatic neighbors. A great occasion to see what some of the local fish you have eaten looks like fresh off the boat! Eddie Eastman a life long local commercial fisherman will host Fish Filleting 101 demonstrating how to fillet an entire fish at 10 am, 11, am and 12 pm.

Eastman’s Fish Market and Eastman’s Local Catch, a NH CSF, owns their own commercial boat and catches, processes, and sells our their own local caught fish.

Boat Camp will bring a saltwater touch tank that is home to dozens of locally collected, native species found along the intertidal zone and nearshore waters. Boat Camp {Building Ocean Awareness Through Children, Adults and Marine education Professionals} celebrates the sea and hopes to inspire sound stewardship of the Merrimack River estuary, coastal Plum Island and our home waters of the Gulf of Maine through educational summer camp programs.

Glenn’s Restaurant and Cool Bar will offer tasty samples of a dish created with local caught fish and will also hand out recipes of the dishes featuring local fish. Since it’s inception, Glenn’s has consistently utilized local produce, meats and cheeses to create compelling and creative dishes that the greater Boston area has been enjoying for over 20 years!

The Newburyport Farmers’ Market in it’s second year, is held on Sunday’s from 9:00am-1:00pm at The Tannery Marketplace downtown Newburyport. The Farmers’ market is committed to supporting our local farmers, fishermen and creative community through hosting the weekly market and creating compelling events that educate, inspire and delight our community.
