Buying local is a great way to support your community and give your family the freshest food possible. Applecrest Farm Orchards is the oldest and largest apple orchard in New Hampshire’s beautiful seacoast region. It has been growing the finest fruits and vegetables on its nearly 300 acres since the first apple tree was planted in 1913. Operated by the Wagner family since 1954, Applecrest now produces about 40,000 bushels of more than 40 different varieties of apples, including many New England favorites such as MacIntosh, Cortland, Macoun, Ida Red, and Red Delicious. Our summer crops (available at the Applemart or pick-your-own), fresh vegetables, juicy tree-ripened peaches and nectarines, and sweet corn, are picked daily.

For 324 years Arrowhead Farm has been providing the area with quality farm products including plants, fruits, berries, vegetables, flowers, eggs and poultry, meat and livestock, milk, wool and forest products. The farm’s retail greenhouse offers a variety of fresh farm products. Stop by for high quality garden plants and all the advice and information that you might need along with them. Our farm fields grow fruits, vegetables, herbs, flowers, and berries without chemical fertilizers or pesticide sprays. The pastures are being used again to provide the best naturally raised beef, pork, and chevon found in this area. All of the livestock is fed with hay, grain, and forages grown right here on the farm or by other local farmer friends. No hormones, antibiotics or meat by-products will be found in any feed here at Arrowhead. We also offer different honeys from our bees, eggs from our organically fed hens and our own pure maple syrup. The farm is just a short ride from town. Feed the animals! Pick your own flowers and herbs! Host a party in the greenhouse! Preschool and playgroups always welcome-great for birthday parties!

Cider Hill offers you the opportunity to pick your own fruit throughout the summer and fall. Go inside their wonderful store and watch them make fresh donuts and watch their bees make honey. They welcome school tours and large groups (you must arrange this ahead of time.) They have a crop schedule telling you what you can pick yourself and/or purchase at the store throughout the season. Starting a CSA in 2010.

Long Hill Orchard and Farm has been in operation since 1896. In 2007, we started our Community Supported Agricultural (CSA) program with our sister farm Picadilly Farm in Winchester, NH. In addition to our CSA program (using sustainable methods only) we grow produce and fruit for our farm stand open to the public including apples, peaches and pears. And there are many other great items available such as local dairy products, honey, maple syrup, crafts, baked goods, etc. You can also enjoy a tasty treat from our ice cream stand (opens in May).

The 120-acre farms grows more than 25 varieties of apples as well as many different types of fruits and vegetables. All of their veggies are “No-Spray” (which means no synthetics or nasty stuff.) There is a bakery and store, and even a winery! PYO strawberries, raspberries, and blackberries are favorites, and entertainment and hayrides are available throughout the season. The farm is on the road to Crane’s Beach.

Smolak Farms offers activities for children of all ages. Depending upon the season, children can pick their own peaches, nectarines, plums, apples and pumpkins. Children can also feed the animals on the farm including goats, rabbits, pigs and chickens. There are ducks and swans in the pond and fallow deer in their woodland environment. The farm offers a small enclosed play space with structures to climb on. The farm stand sells fresh muffins, donuts, plants, preserves and gift items. Picnic tables are available to have a snack or meal. During the year (depending upon the season), they offer tours, hayrides, children’s entertainment, educational activities, pony rides and children’s crafts. There is a summer program for children ages 4-6.

A wonderful local farm located on 70 acres. It is home to a 100-year-old barn featuring a live buffalo, “Buffy,” and a llama. You can PYO strawberries in the summer. Also a great place to buy fresh baked pies, marinated meats and fresh local produce!
