The Newburyport Art Association “Ebb and Flow” an exhibition of recent encaustic paintings by award winning local artist Robin Luciano Beaty. Robin works in the ancient medium of encaustic: a molten beeswax mixed with resin and dry pigments. She describes in her statement how the medium of encaustic provides her with an exploratory means of expression that everyday artists techniques can not; “My process is driven by the visceral experience of discovering something reminiscent rather than recording a specific space.
