Joppa Flats Education Center’s education coordinator David Larson will present a slide program and lecture, “Washington’s Olympic Peninsula,” at Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center on Wednesday, May 12, at 7:30 p.m.
On a trip to the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State last September, David Larson photographed the area’s beautiful scenery, birds, and other wildlife. Combining shore, pelagic, forest, and mountain habitats, this is a wonderful destination for birders, naturalists, and aesthetes.
A resident of Haverhill, Massachusetts, David Larson is the Director of Mass Audubon’s Birder’s Certificate Program, a college-level ornithology course. At the Joppa Flats Education Center, he designs and leads educational programs and field trips for participants of all ages. He holds a PhD in zoology from the University of Minnesota and has served on the faculty of Boston University. He has birded and led expeditions throughout North America and in the Caribbean, Trinidad, Belize, Panama, Brazil, Botswana, and Japan.
This program is open to the public, appropriate for all ages, and free to Mass Audubon’s members; non-members are asked to pay an admission fee of $4. No pre-registration is required.
