Newburyport-Today is pleased to welcome back local photographer Greg Nikas for our continuing series Word on the Street. Greg operates Sweethaven Portrait Studio at 25 Inn Street. He is an accomplished photographer, working with both corporate and private clients. We are pleased to have Greg join our team of contributors. This week Greg found Newburyport residents Robert & Pat out for a stroll on the beach.
Robert and Pat retired 7 years ago and moved to Newburyport from North Andover. They both grew up in small neighbor hoods in coastal communties, Beverly and Salem. Therefore, Newburyport was a natural fit for their retirement.
They wanted to live in a coastal community again. They adore Newburyport and the intimacy of their new neighborhood which is centrally located on Federal Street.
Pat was a nurse and Robert was a math teacher, he still substitutes at the Nock Middle School. They told Greg that they have made great new friends since relocating to their new home and really enjoy walking around town.
They added that they go to Plum Island because they find it very peaceful and energizing.
