This is one of my favorite times of the year, no not because it’s tax day but because it’s the day that I celebrate my birthday with my brother Joe! We are not twins but born fours apart on tax day, April 15th. It’s a special time of year for many reasons but also for the fact that the greater Newburyport area comes alive with the sounds of spring, renewal, music, birds chirping an increased commerce for our chamber members!
Don’t forget that many of the downtown retailers are open late now on Thursday through Saturday nights. Look for flyers in participating chamber member businesses. Check out which of your favorite Newburyport stores are open late here.
Next weekend the city will come alive with the sounds of reading…make plans now to attend the Newburyport Literary Festival next Saturday and Sunday, April 24 and 25th. For more information just go to www.newburyportliteraryfestival.org
Also, save the date for special events happening in May. First, the Chamber’s 44th Annual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Blue Ocean Music Hall (formerly Tupelo Music Hall) in Salisbury. Our guest speaker will be former CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Charlie Baker. It is an event not to miss and we hope to see you there as well. Invitations should be in your mail boxes later this week.
