The downtown is starting to come alive again with the “sound of shopping, browsing and dining.” The retailers in the downtown and Tannery have a special announcement of an Open Late initiative. Beginning today April 1st, many of our downtown retailers and service businesses will be open late for your shopping and dining pleasure. You can shop at night in Newburyport, Thursday through Saturday at many different shops – where it’s warmer, brighter, smaller crowds and convenient evening hours. Also, grab your calendars and save the date for special events happening in May. First, the Chamber’s 44thAnnual Meeting will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at 12:00 noon at Blue Ocean Music Hall (formerly Tupelo Music Hall) in Salisbury. Our guest speaker will be former CEO of Harvard Pilgrim Health Care, Charlie Baker. It is an event not to miss and we hope to see you there as well. Invitations should be in your mail boxes later this week.
