Six More Weeks of Winter? Say It Isn’t so!
Well, Puxatawny Phil saw his shadow and retreated for six more weeks of winter. Don’t despair! February is a short month and there are still lots of activities to get the kids outside and burn off some of that cabin fever. We are lucky enough to have two great outdoor snow parks right in our backyards plus it’s a short drive so some great mountains in New Hampshire. Loon Mountain, Waterville Valley and Gunstock are all within close driving distance for day trips or visit Wachusett Valley in Princeton, Mass.

Kid skiing at BradfordSki Bradford is a great starter hill for little ones. Just a quick 10-15 minute trip to the Bradford-area of Haverhill, you can get the full experience of a big mountain but at a reasonable price. Bradford offers ski school and snowboarding school for little ones. Check out the lesson packages below or visitwww.skibradford.com.

Little-B Weekday Ski – $95

Four 45-minute lessons including use of learning area for day of lesson. Beginners age 3-7. Classes meet at 10:30am, Monday through Friday. Classes start January 4, January 18, and February 8. Rental Equipment for the four weeks is $45.

Little-B Weekend Ski – $140

Four 45-minute lessons including use of learning area for day of lesson. Beginners age 3-7. Morning classes meet at 10:30am. Afternoon classes meet at 1:30pm, Saturday or Sunday. Program limited to learning area only. Classes start the weekends of January 2, January 16, and February 6. Rental Equipment for the 4 weeks is $55.00

Little-B Weeknight Ski – $95

Four 45-minute lessons including use of learning area for day of lesson. Beginners age 3-7. Classes meet at 6:30pm, Monday through Thursdays. Classes start the weeks of January 4, January 18, or February 8. Rental Equipment for the 4 weeks is $45.

Little Rider Snowboard Program – $140

Four 45-minute lessons including use of learning area for day of lesson. Beginners age 6-7. Saturday or Sunday at 10:30am and 1:30pm. Start weekends of January 2, January 16, February 6. Rental equipment for the 4 weeks is $55.00.

Girl tubing in snowAmesbury Sports Park is fun for the whole family. With 11 total runs and a new lift, you can get double the runs for the same price! They have extensive snow making to insure the winter fun is here all season long. Toddlers (2-3 years old) are not permitted on the main hill but the Tiny Hill is perfect for playing. For ages four through six, children must be accompanied by an adult, parent, or guardian at all times, and helmets are mandatory. For age seven and older, helmets and supervision are optional.
