As I write this post I am reminded of a song entitled “Where does the time go” – an obscure but beautiful song written by Barry Manilow. Where has the time gone? The last I looked it was January 1st. But alas time moving is a good thing. Today was a glorious sunny day in Newburyport in the last full week of January. Events abound in the area. Check out all the offerings that so many of our members have to offer for so many. The New Works Festival continues this weekend at the Firehouse Theatre.
If you like to plan ahead then look forward to February 12 and 13 when the Vagina Monologues opens at the Firehouse Theatre. I have been asked to perform in the show along with an amazing slate of Newburyport area women. I am looking forward to being on stage and helping the Jeanne Geiger Crisis Center raise funds to support their important work. Check out www.firehouse.org for ticket information.
Another highlight is the annual, very popular Merrimack River Eagle Festival. The festival is presented by Mass Audubon’s Joppa Flats Education Center and the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge.
