Newburyport-Today is pleased to welcome local photographer Meg Manion Silliker for our continuing seriesWord on the Street. Meg is a natural light photographer, whose style has been described as “honest, playful and candid”. We are pleased to have Meg join our team of contributors. Check out Meg’s Website,Bluelime Photography and look for her strolling around Newburyport snapping photos and asking “What’s the Word on the Street?”
Meg says, “The word on the street today was ‘COLD’! everyone was moving quite fast today and I appreciate those stopping in mid stride!!”

Look at the cute chihuahua! look closely!! this is "Lickity Split" - what a cute name. Her owner, Galluaudet, from Newburyport, told me they were on their way to Just Dogs! on Pleasant Street to buy Lickity Split a coat. "I'm tired of sharing mine", says Galluaudet!

Along for the coat buying expedition were her two boys, Sparhawk, 6 and Rowan, 4. These cuties were not bothered by the chilly wind today and enjoyed playing in the snow on Inn Street.

Aga, an au pair who is also studying, is on a well deserved coffee break. Aga is from Poland and used to cold winters. (notice, no hat, scarf or gloves) she's tough!

Jeanne moved to Newburyport a year ago September from Westborough. I noticed her right away sporting her bright hat and even brighter smile. Jeanne told me she was taking a brisk walk on the waterfront. She told me she loves Newburyport and is starting to feel a part of the community. I told her we would show her off on the Newburyport-Today blog!

Cassandra from Newburyport, was out for a stroll with her dog, Zoe and hiding inside the stroller her baby girl, 8 month old Siena.

My photo assistant today was 4 year old Annie, my daughter. Who was rewarded with a hot chocolate from Starbucks.
