With the frigid air of another New England winter settling in, the lazy days of summer seem an age away and yet the time for warm, salt air and ice cream cones will be here again before we know it.

That said, planning for Yankee Homecoming 2010 is underway because sooner is always better than later. And so, in the spirit of our 2010 theme, “Come Together”, volunteers old and new are needed to join in the hard work and rewarding effort that goes into Newburyport’s historic, summer event.

Don Walters, the coming year’s General Chairman, is asking anyone and everyone to attend a Holiday Kickoff Meeting on Thursday, December 3rd at 7:00, upstairs at the Starboard Galley on Water Street in Newburyport. Come meet Don, the committee chairs and other volunteers and bring your enthusiasm for community involvement.

If you’re interested in volunteering, but can’t be there, the Yankee Homecoming website (www.yankeehomecoming.com) is currently under reconstruction but, you can e-mail Don atyh2010@comcast.net.

Yankee Homecoming 2010 will be held July 25th-August 1st.
